For the majority of targeted tracer fate association study (TTFAS) projects, SiDMAP uses:
Agilent 5975 MS and 6890N GC systems for carbohydrate, organic acids, fatty acid isotopomer data acquisitions Agilent_5975

 Ion sources: Dual function; electron impact (EI); Chemical Ionization (CI)

 Equipped with a 7683B series sample tray (N10149; G2913A) and injector to hold 100 samples with the automatic sample injection tower (S/N: CN54729244), which uses 10 microliter or 50 microliter syringes.

 Equipped with a single turbo vacuum pump and a tandem rough oil pump to generate 10-7 torr vacuum (operates under self tuning passing criteria during machine tuning and operation with an automatic shutdown sequence in case of failure or malfunction)

 Calibrated daily using PSTBA standard mass supplied by vendor (built-in self tuning function according to the built-in tune methods for Helium and Methane).  Natural 13C standards are included in the beginning and at the end of each sequence, as well as after every 25 continuous sample runs.

 Equipped with a single oil diffusion vacuum pump (heated) and a tandem rough oil pump to generate 10-7 torr vacuum (operates under self tuning passing criteria during machine tuning and operation with an automatic shutdown sequence in case of failure or malfunction)

 Calibrated daily using PSTBA standard mass supplied by vendor (built-in self tuning function according to the built-in tune methods for Helium).  Solvent runs are included in the beginning and at the end of each sequence, as well as after every 25 continuous sample runs.  Natural 13C standards are included in the beginning and at the end of each sequence, as well as after every 25 continuous sample runs.

For the majority of Powered by SiDMAP (PbS) projects, SiDMAP services include protocol transfers, manuals, two weeks laboratory training, continued by a one-time 20 working days technical support for mass spectrometer operations and data collection.

The Applied BiosyStems Voyager-DE STR. voyager

The Voyager is a high performance matrix-assisted laser desorption time-of-flight mass spectrometer (MALDI-TOFMS) with a mass range of 500-300,000 Da. It is equipped with a nitrogen laser (337nm, 3 ns pulse, 20 Hz maximum firing rate.). It can operate in the linear and reflectron modes. The linear detector allows for better sensitivity of high mass molecules, while the reflectron detector provides high resolution, permitting isotopic separations up to 5,000 Daltons. Mass measurement accuracy is typically 0.05-0.1% in the linear mode and 0.005-0.01% in the reflection mode. The Voyager is equipped with a collision gas cell and a timed-ion-selector for performing MS/MS employing the collision-induced dissociation/post-source-decay method (CID/PSD) for sequencing peptides and oligonucleotides.
