Chief Executive Officer and Founder
With more than two decades of top-level management experience marketing brands and building companies, Agi Hirshberg brings a broad mix of skills to her work for SIDMAP. As the President and Founder of SIDMAP, her understanding of the need for improved patient diagnostics led her to organize the core team of scientists and researchers. Currently, she oversees day-to-day operations and is responsible for all fiscal matters and investor relations.
Prior to joining SIDMAP, Ms. Hirshberg was co-founder and Vice President of International Sales, Design, and Manufacturing for Agron, Inc., a global licensee for Adidas. Building upon her expertise in apparel and brand marketing, she sold the company in 1998 and formed JR 286, a company that produces sporting goods products for Under Armour and Speedo.
In 1998, after her late husband Ron Hirshberg lost his battle with pancreatic cancer, Agi established the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research (Foundation). The Foundation is the first of its kind to focus exclusively on this disease, and under Agi’s direction, funded the establishment of the Ronald S. Hirshberg Translational Pancreatic Cancer Research Laboratory and the Ronald S. Hirshberg Chair in Translational Pancreatic Cancer Research, both at UCLA. Agi’s roles in the Foundation include leading patient support and business operations in addition to creating awareness of pancreatic cancer worldwide. As a respected member of both the business and financial community in Los Angeles, she serves on the UCLA Board of Governors, UCLA Medical Center Board of Visitors, and UCLA Board for Division of Digestive Diseases. Her philanthropic efforts sparked her interest in scientific research.
